Mystic Seaport Antique Marine Engine Expo 2026

Date: 17 August 2026

Location: Mystic Seaport Museum, Mystic, United States

Organizer: Mystic Seaport Museum

The Antique Marine Engine Expo at Mystic Seaport Museum is one of the longest-running events of its kind in the United States, held each August on the museum grounds beside the Mystic River in Connecticut. Exhibitors travel from across the country with several hundred displays of pre-1973 marine engines: gasoline, diesel and electric, plus working steam models of all ages. Many engines are run during the weekend, so the waterfront fills with the pop and thump of old one-lungers, which is either charming or maddening depending on your ear. The 34th edition took place in August 2025. The museum itself rewards the visit, with its recreated 19th-century seafaring village and the historic New York fireboat Fire Fighter moored on site; in recent years the expo weekend has run alongside the museum's Fire Fighter Festival honouring first responders. Check the museum calendar for confirmed 2026 dates before travelling.
