Privacy Policy

This page summarises how the World Sailing Day events platform (events.worldsailingday.org), operated by World Sailing Day Organisation Ltd., handles your data. The full policy is available at worldsailingday.org/privacy-policy.

Accounts

When you create an organizer or participant account we store your email address and profile details so you can manage your listings and bookmarks. Authentication and data storage are provided by Supabase, hosted in the EU.

Analytics & location

We collect anonymous page-view statistics and use Sentry for error reporting. You can opt out of analytics in the page footer. The "Near You" feature only runs when you press "Use my location" — your position is used only in your browser and never stored on our servers.

Service providers (sub-processors)

The platform relies on the following sub-processors: Supabase (authentication, database and file storage, EU), Vercel (hosting and content delivery, global CDN, US company), Resend (transactional email, US), Sentry (error reporting, US), hCaptcha / Intuition Machines (spam protection, US), OpenStreetMap/Nominatim (map tiles and geocoding, EU) and ipapi.co (optional, opt-in approximate IP location lookup, US). Each receives only the data technically necessary to provide its service, and we rely on each provider's data processing agreement (DPA) and, where data leaves the EU/UK, standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time via contact@worldsailingday.org. See also our Terms of Service.

Cookies & local storage

The platform does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Local storage in your browser keeps you signed in and remembers preferences such as your analytics opt-out; hCaptcha may set technically necessary cookies when it protects a form against spam.

Data retention

Account data is kept for as long as your account exists and deleted on request. Anonymous page-view statistics contain no personal identifiers and are retained in aggregate to understand how the platform is used.
