Become a World Sailing Day Ambassador

Ambassadors grow sailing in their country or region: inspiring participation, raising awareness, supporting local initiatives and sharing the values of World Sailing Day — every May 28th and all year round. They are a selected few who work closely with our team and volunteers to push the sport forward.

What ambassadors do

As an ambassador you activate: you encourage clubs, ports, sailing schools and organisers in your region to host events and engage with World Sailing Day. You connect: you make introductions between organisers, institutions and collaborators, from yacht clubs and marinas to sailing schools. You advise: you share local knowledge with our team about what is working, what is needed and what is changing on your waters. And you open opportunities: you help obtain local sponsorship and support your local maritime industry as sailing grows in your region.

What you get

Every ambassador receives a special ambassador kit from us, including official World Sailing Day merchandising. You are empowered to represent the World Sailing Day organisation in your region, you gain visibility as its official local representative, and you are supported hands-on by our team throughout.

Two ways to represent

Sailing Ambassadors are sailors, instructors, club members and organisers who bring people onto the water and spread the joy of sailing. Partner Ambassadors are the local contact for companies: connecting marinas, shipyards, charters and brands with World Sailing Day and helping the maritime industry grow.

The water is waiting

There are 118 countries with navigable waters, more than 20,000 marinas across the US and Europe alone, over two million berths for boats, and a US recreational sailing industry worth around $230 billion annually. Sailing is a global opportunity — and it grows region by region, through people like you.
