AMYA R2 IOM Championships 2026

The AMYA Region 2 IOM Championship is the Mid-Atlantic title event for the International One Metre class, the most competitive class in radio-controlled sailing. The boats are one-metre racing yachts sailed from shore, and the racing is taken as seriously as any keelboat championship: proper starts, mark roundings, protests and all. Recent editions have been sailed at Cedar Point Marina in Grasonville, Maryland, hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Model Racing Association under American Model Yachting Association sanctioning, and have drawn skippers from well beyond the region. IOM racing rewards boat handling and wind reading rather than budget, since the class rules keep the designs tightly controlled.
