The ROCKWOOL Germany Sail Grand Prix is the German stop of the 2026 SailGP season, held in Sassnitz on the island of Ruegen on 22 and 23 August. Ten-plus national teams race one-design F50 catamarans that foil above the Baltic at motorway speeds, with short races packed into two afternoons of racing close to the harbour wall. Sassnitz joined the calendar in 2025 and the league has confirmed racing in Germany through to 2027, so the Baltic fixture looks settled for now. Denmark's ROCKWOOL Group, which also backs a team in the league, is title sponsor. For spectators the draw is proximity: the course is laid tight against the shore, and both weekend passes and single-day grandstand tickets are on sale. Ruegen itself, with its chalk cliffs and beach resorts, absorbs the crowds better than you might expect for a town this size.
