Citroen Windsurf World Cup Sylt

Date: 25 September 2026 – 4 October 2026

Location: Westerland, Germany

Organizer: ACT Agency / PWA

The Windsurf World Cup at Westerland on Sylt is the only Super Grand Slam on the PWA World Tour, meaning all three disciplines, Wave, Freestyle and Slalom, are contested at a single event. It also carries the tour's biggest purse at 85,000 euros. The 2026 edition runs from 25 September to 4 October off Brandenburger Strand, the beach promenade in the centre of Westerland. Late-season North Sea weather is the point here. When a front comes through, the wave sailing in the shorebreak is as demanding as anywhere on tour. When it goes flat, slalom and freestyle fill the schedule instead. Onshore, the event doubles as a beach festival, with an exhibition village and evening programme running the full ten days, and watching is free. Sylt has hosted World Cup windsurfing since the 1980s and the island treats the event as the close of its summer season.
