Richmond Maritime Festival

Date: 22 August 2026 – 23 August 2026

Location: Richmond, Canada

Organizer: City of Richmond / Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site

The Richmond Maritime Festival is the Vancouver area's main maritime festival, held at Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site in Steveston Village, Richmond, on the south arm of the Fraser River. The 2026 edition, the 23rd, runs 22 and 23 August, 11am to 6pm both days, and admission is free. Britannia is the oldest shipyard in British Columbia, a former cannery whose twelve heritage buildings record the Chinese, Japanese-Canadian, First Nations and European workers who ran the Fraser fisheries. During the festival the site fills with restored wooden boats at the floating docks, live music, artists, food trucks and hands-on activities for children. The setting does most of the work: boardwalks, tidal sloughs and working heritage buildings rather than a fenced-off event site. It is an easy family day out, and one of the few festivals in Greater Vancouver where the venue is the actual point.
