Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival

Date: 11 September 2026 – 13 September 2026

Location: Historic Point Hudson Marina, Port Townsend, United States

Organizer: Northwest Maritime

The Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival is the largest event of its kind in North America, held at the Point Hudson Marina in Port Townsend, Washington. The 49th edition runs from 11 to 13 September 2026, organised by Northwest Maritime. Around 300 wooden boats gather on land and water, from pocket dinghies and Bristol Bay gillnetters to classic schooners, and the programme includes more than 100 presentations, demonstrations and workshops covering boatbuilding, repair, voyaging and design. Live music runs all day, with local food, beer and wine on site. What separates this festival from a boat show is the culture around it: Port Townsend is a working wooden boat town with an established school of boatbuilding and a marine trades district, so the people showing boats are often the people who built or restored them, and they like to talk. Sunday traditionally ends with a sail-by off Point Hudson.
