J/70 Mixed-Plus World Championship

Date: 10 August 2026 – 15 August 2026

Location: Royal Danish Yacht Club, Copenhagen, Denmark

Organizer: Royal Danish Yacht Club

The J/70 Mixed-Plus World Championship comes to Copenhagen in August 2026, hosted by the Royal Danish Yacht Club on behalf of the International J/70 Class Association. Mixed-Plus is the class's answer to a real problem in keelboat sailing: top-level crews skew heavily male. Under the format a crew is four or more people with no more than two males over 18 aboard, which in practice puts women and young sailors in most of the seats. The first Mixed-Plus Worlds at Torbole on Lake Garda in 2025 drew 47 teams from 17 nations with over 125 women competing, and was won by the Spanish crew Yupi with Olympic medallist Joan Cardona on the helm. Copenhagen hosts the second edition, with racing on the Sound off the Danish capital and charter boats available through the Danish Sailing League. Expect Olympic names sharing a start line with family teams, which is rather the idea.
