2026 ILCA 4 Youth World Championship

The 2026 ILCA 4 Youth World Championships run 1 to 9 August in Aarhus, Denmark, hosted by the Aarhus International Sailing Center with the International Laser Class Association. The ILCA 4 is the smallest rig in the ILCA (formerly Laser) family, and its Youth Worlds is one of the biggest single-handed youth events on the calendar, typically drawing hundreds of teenage sailors from dozens of countries. Aarhus knows how to run scale: the venue hosted the 2018 Sailing World Championships and has the ramps, boat park and race management depth to handle a fleet this size on Aarhus Bay. One technical footnote makes this edition notable. It is the first championship where the new ILCA 4 MkII sail is class legal for racing, with sailors free to choose between the MkI and MkII. A limited number of charter boats are available, which matters for the many travelling teams who cannot ship their own.
