2026 ILCA 6 Youth World Championship

The ILCA 6 Youth World Championship is the world title event for youth sailors in the ILCA 6, the single-handed dinghy formerly known as the Laser Radial. The 2026 championship runs 11 to 19 August in Aarhus, Denmark, hosted by the Aarhus International Sailing Center in partnership with the International Laser Class Association. Aarhus knows this scale of event, having staged the 2018 Sailing World Championships from the same harbour. Entry is allocated by application rather than open registration, capped at 300 boats in the Youth Men's fleet and 150 in the Youth Women's fleet, which still makes it one of the largest youth championships in the sport. Racing in fleets this size rewards consistency over brilliance; one bad start in a 300-boat event is hard to recover from. For many competitors this regatta is the main step between national youth programmes and the senior Olympic-class circuit.
