HISWA te Water is the largest in-water boat show in the Netherlands, held at Bataviahaven in Lelystad on the Markermeer shore. The 2026 edition, the 41st, runs from 2 to 6 September. Around 300 boats lie in the harbour, from small open sailboats to substantial motor yachts, with Dutch yards well represented alongside international brands. The in-water format is the point: you can step aboard, compare boats hull to hull, and in many cases arrange a trial run on the water. Ashore there are equipment stands, refit specialists and brokers, plus the usual autumn-show talk of wintering and maintenance. Early September timing makes it the traditional close of the Dutch sailing season and the opening of buying season, and many owners time purchases to the show. Bataviahaven's deep basin and direct access from open water suit the format well. If you are boat shopping in Northern Europe, this is the one to plan around.
