Maritiem Evenement Enkhuizen

Date: 31 July 2026 – 2 August 2026

Location: Harbor area, Enkhuizen, Netherlands

Organizer: Maritiem Enkhuizen

Around a hundred historic sailing vessels gather in Enkhuizen's old harbours for the 52nd Maritiem Evenement, 31 July to 2 August 2026. The fleet is the point: flat-bottomed barges, clippers, tjalks and botters that once worked the Zuiderzee, now maintained and sailed by enthusiasts. Most are moored around the Drommedaris, and you can walk the quays and talk to the crews. There's sailing on the IJsselmeer, shanty choirs and old harbour crafts demonstrated ashore. The event is organized by the LVBHB, the Dutch association for the preservation of historic working vessels, and Enkhuizen is a fitting host - the town's wealth came from herring and Zuiderzee trade, and its skyline still looks like the ships' era. Free to visit, and busiest on the Saturday.
