Limfjorden Rundt

Date: 7 September 2026 – 12 September 2026

Location: Limfjorden, Løgstør, Denmark

Organizer: Limfjorden Rundt

Limfjorden Rundt is the largest wooden ship regatta in the Nordic countries, sailed every year in week 37 across the Limfjord in northern Denmark. In 2026 that means the second week of September, starting from Løgstør on Monday 7 September. Up to 65 old commercial sailing vessels take part: schooners, ketches and jagts that once carried cargo and fish around Danish waters, most now maintained by volunteer crews. The format is a five-stage race between six harbour towns, Løgstør, Thisted, Struer, Nykøbing Mors, Fur and Skive, with a festival in each port as the fleet comes in. The event began modestly in 1988 with six boats and grew into the week that defines the fjord's sailing calendar. Spectators get the best of it for free: watch the starts from the moles, then wander the quays in the evening among tarred rigging, oil lamps and diesel stoves.
