Totally Thames Festival 2026

Date: 1 September 2026 – 30 September 2026

Location: River Thames, London, United Kingdom

Organizer: Thames Festival Trust

Totally Thames is a month-long festival of the River Thames, curated by the Thames Festival Trust and running 1 to 30 September 2026. More than 100 events take place on, beneath and along the river, from Richmond in the west to Barking and Dagenham in the east, and most are free. The 2026 programme includes Turning the Tide by Turner Prize-nominated artist Catherine Yass, a film installation projected onto the disused columns of Blackfriars Railway Bridge from 17 to 20 September, made with Graeae Theatre Company. Around it sit river races, regattas, foreshore clean-ups, mudlarking exhibitions and a sound and light piece inside the historic vessel SS Robin. For sailors and boat watchers the draw is the water-borne programme, which brings traditional craft and rowing fleets onto a stretch of river normally dominated by commuter clippers. It is less a single event than a month of excuses to get to the river.
