2026 iQFOiL World Championships

Date: 7 September 2026 – 12 September 2026

Location: United Kingdom

Organizer: Royal Yachting Association (RYA) with iQFOiL Class / Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy / Dorset Council

The 2026 iQFOiL World Championships bring the Olympic windsurfing class to Weymouth and Portland on England's south coast from 7 to 12 September 2026. The Royal Yachting Association hosts the event at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, the 2012 Olympic sailing venue. It is the first time the UK has staged a major iQFOiL championship, and the first Olympic windsurfing world title decided on British waters since 2009. Up to 250 riders are expected, foiling at speeds up to 35 knots inside Portland Harbour and on Weymouth Bay. Britain enters as the team to beat: Emma Wilson and Andy Brown both won world titles at the 2025 edition and defend them at home, Wilson with two Olympic medals already to her name. Racing runs through a fleet series into knockout medal contests, the format used to settle finals in this class. Shore viewing at the academy is straightforward and free.
