Tarbert Race and Joint Muster with FYC 2026

Date: 8 August 2026

Location: Clyde Cruising Club, Tarbert, Scotland

Organizer: Clyde Cruising Club

A fixture on the Clyde Cruising Club calendar: a race from the Firth of Clyde to Tarbert, Loch Fyne, followed by a joint muster ashore with Fairlie Yacht Club. The format is simple. Cruisers and racers sail a passage race across to Tarbert, tie up in the harbour, and the two clubs get together for a social evening in the village. Tarbert is a natural destination for this sort of event. It is a sheltered fishing harbour on the west side of Loch Fyne with pubs and restaurants a few steps from the pontoons, and it has hosted Clyde race weekends and musters for generations, including the famous Scottish Series each spring. The Tarbert race is open to Clyde Cruising Club and Fairlie Yacht Club boats and is as much about the weekend away as the result. Recent editions have run on a Saturday in August.
