Sneekweek 2026

Date: 31 July 2026 – 6 August 2026

Location: Sneekermeer, Sneek, Netherlands

Organizer: Sneekweek

Sneekweek is the largest inland sailing regatta in Europe, raced on the Sneekermeer in Friesland since 1934. The 89th edition runs 31 July to 6 August 2026. More than 600 boats compete across over 30 classes, from Olympic-style dinghies to the traditional Frisian designs that only really exist on these waters, such as the 16m2 and Regenboog classes. Racing is organised from the starting island in the Sneekermeer, with daily starts through the week. The event opens on Friday evening with the Fleet Review and a ceremonial opening in Sneek's canals, and from then on the town runs two schedules: racing by day, and a festival by night with seven music stages and packed terraces along the waterfront. The Dutch summarise it as 'overdag om de eer, 's avonds voor de sfeer': daytime for honour, evening for atmosphere. Plenty of visitors come for only one of the two.
