Fowey Royal Regatta

Date: 16 August 2026 – 22 August 2026

Location: Fowey harbour, Fowey, United Kingdom

Organizer: Fowey Gallants Sailing Club

Fowey Royal Regatta has been running since 1819, which makes it one of the oldest regattas in Britain. For a week each August the Cornish harbour town gives itself over to racing and shore-side festivities; the 2026 edition runs 16-22 August. On the water there's daily racing for the local Troy class - wooden keelboats built in Fowey and raced nowhere else - plus Fowey River boats, Falmouth Working Boats, dinghies and visiting yachts. Racing is organized by POFROC, the joint committee of the Royal Fowey Yacht Club and Fowey Gallants Sailing Club. Ashore, the week includes the carnival, the Giant Pasty procession, a Red Arrows display in most years, and fireworks over the harbour. It's as much a town festival as a sailing event, and the narrow streets get properly full.
