Edinburgh Cup 2026

Date: 18 August 2026 – 21 August 2026

Location: Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes, United Kingdom

Organizer: British Dragon Association / Royal Yacht Squadron

The Edinburgh Cup goes to the winner of the Dragon British Open Championship, the most important event on the British Dragon calendar. In 2026 the Royal Yacht Squadron hosts it in Cowes, run together with the Dragon UK Grand Prix, one of four European Grand Prix regattas this season. Racing is on windward-leeward courses in the central Solent from 18 to 21 August. The entry list is the strongest in two decades: 45 teams signed up by midsummer, with the fleet capped at 50 boats. Crews come from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United States as well as from across the UK. The British Dragon Association also marks its 70th anniversary this year, so the shore programme includes a welcome reception on the Squadron lawn and a gala prizegiving dinner in the RYS Pavilion. Expect close one-design racing in a deep, experienced fleet.
