Fjordsteam Bergen

Date: 5 August 2026 – 9 August 2026

Location: Norway

Organizer: Fjordsteam Bergen AS

Fjordsteam is Norway's great gathering of historic vessels, held in Bergen roughly every four years since 2000. The 2026 edition, the sixth, runs from 5 to 9 August, with around 70 veteran ships filling Vågen, the old harbour beside the World Heritage wharf at Bryggen. Steamships, veteran motor vessels and other working craft tie up in the middle of the city, and many of them take passengers out on the fjord during the festival. The event is not confined to the water: steam-powered vehicles, vintage trains, trams and aircraft join in, so the whole city centre runs on old machinery for five days. The last edition, in 2022, drew more than 150,000 people. Organisers call it Europe's largest gathering of living cultural heritage, and whatever the rankings, the sight and sound of a harbour full of working steamships is worth the trip on its own.
