Camden Windjammer Festival

Date: 4 September 2026 – 5 September 2026

Location: Camden Harbor, Camden, United States

Organizer: Camden Maine

Camden calls itself the windjammer capital of the world, and over Labor Day weekend the claim is easy to check. The Camden Windjammer Festival runs September 4 and 5, 2026 at the Public Landing, when more than a dozen schooners of the Maine windjammer fleet, some well over a century old, gather in Camden Harbor. The fleet arrives under sail on Friday afternoon, followed by live music and fireworks over the harbor. Saturday is the full program: schooner open houses where visitors can step aboard and help hoist sail, the Lobster Crate Race, a chowder challenge, a build-a-boat parade and race, a nautical dog show, and the Schooner Talent Show, in which professional crews prove they are better sailors than performers. Admission is free. The festival is run by the town and stays deliberately small and local. If you want to see Maine's traditional sailing fleet in one place, this is the weekend.
