XInsurance Great Lakes Grand Prix 2026

Date: 31 July 2026

Location: Washington Park Beach, Michigan City, United States

Organizer: American Power Boat Association

The Great Lakes Grand Prix is offshore powerboat racing off Washington Park Beach in Michigan City, Indiana, on the southern shore of Lake Michigan. 2026 is the 17th running, held during a free week-long festival from 27 July to 2 August, with the racing itself on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August. Around a dozen classes compete off the beach, headlined by twin-engine Super Cats and Class 1 boats, alongside Super Stock, 500R Factory Stock, Super Vee, Mod Vee and five bracket classes. The fastest boats approach 200 mph, and you can watch it all from the sand for nothing. The surrounding week fills out with a boat parade, block party, brewfest, live music and flyovers. New for 2026 are a Kid's Day at Washington Park Zoo and a Saturday night drone show downtown on Franklin Street. Organized under the American Power Boat Association's offshore national series with Race World Offshore.
