The Regates Royales is the Yacht Club de Cannes' classic yachting week, first sailed in 1929 and held each September in the bay of Cannes. The 48th edition runs from 19 to 26 September 2026. The fleet is the draw here: dozens of classic and Spirit of Tradition yachts, some more than a century old, racing alongside a big one-design fleet of Dragons plus Metre-class boats and Tofinou one-designs. The week closes the Mediterranean classic circuit and has long carried the Trophee Panerai, effectively a world championship for classic yachts. Ashore, the old port fills with varnished hulls and long overhangs, and the quayside is worth the trip even if you never watch a start. Late September conditions in the bay are usually moderate, which suits boats built for elegance rather than heavy weather. Entries and the notice of race are handled through the Yacht Club de Cannes.
