Fête de la Langoustine Lesconil

The Fête de la Langoustine is the summer festival of Lesconil, a fishing port in the Pays Bigouden on the south coast of Finistère, Brittany. The 2026 edition is centred on Saturday 8 August, with events starting the evening before. The premise is simple: the village cooks about 1.6 tonnes of langoustines, the local catch, and serves them on the quayside from midday. Around the food there is a full day of harbour entertainment, including trips to sea on working trawlers and the classic sailing vessel Notre Dame de Rumengol, a race of home-built floating contraptions, a Koh-Lanta style contest for children and a flyboard display over the port. Music runs from sea shanties at lunchtime through Breton and rock acts late into the night, and the day ends with fireworks. Entry is free. The sailing content is real but incidental; this is a food festival first, and a good one.
