Festival Interceltique de Lorient

Date: 31 July 2026 – 9 August 2026

Location: Lorient harbour, Lorient, France

Organizer: Festival Interceltique

The Festival Interceltique de Lorient is the world's largest gathering of Celtic cultures, held every summer in the Breton port city of Lorient since 1971. The 55th edition runs 31 July to 9 August 2026, with Cornwall as guest of honour under the theme 'Cornwall, at the heart of the Celtic Sea'. Over ten days the festival draws more than 900,000 visitors for pipe bands, fest-noz dancing, bagad competitions and concerts across the city, from big-stage headliners to sessions in bars. The set piece is the Grande Parade des Nations Celtes on Sunday 2 August, when around 3,500 musicians and dancers from Brittany, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Galicia, Asturias and the Isle of Man march through the streets from 10 a.m. Lorient is a working port, and the festival keeps a maritime thread running through its programming. Accommodation in the town books out far ahead; many visitors camp nearby.
