Clearwater Offshore Nationals 2026

Date: 25 September 2026

Location: Clearwater Beach, Clearwater, United States

Organizer: American Power Boat Association

The Clearwater Offshore Nationals are powerboat racing, not sail, and they are about as spectator-friendly as motorsport on water gets. Roughly 90 race boats, catamarans and V-hulls up to 50 feet long, run a 2.5-mile course laid a couple of hundred yards off Clearwater Beach, parallel to the sand, at speeds up to 150 mph. You watch from a towel. The event is a round of the American Power Boat Association's Offshore National Series and is produced by Race World Offshore, with national titles on the line and crews chasing qualification for the World Championships in Key West each November. The 2026 edition runs 25 to 27 September, with the usual build-up of dry pits, boat displays and street events before the racing itself. Clearwater has hosted offshore racing for decades and the city treats the weekend as the close of its beach season. Bring ear protection if you sit near the course.
