The Championnat de Ligue Nouvelle-Aquitaine Banque Populaire is not a single regatta. It is a season, running from 1 January to 31 December, assembled from grade 5A and grade 4 events held at clubs across the whole Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and administered by the Ligue de Voile Nouvelle-Aquitaine under FFVoile rules. Dinghies, catamarans, windsurf, skiffs, habitables, kitefoil, wingfoil, radio-controlled sailing and handivalide classes each carry their own ranking, and the sailor or crew with the best score in a valid series takes the title of regional champion. A series counts once five boats are entered and two events have been raced. Selective regattas sit in the first half of the year; autumn is left to departmental and local racing. The league treats the championship as its main tool for developing sailors and picking teams for the French youth championships. The 2026 edition peaked with the Coupe Régionale at Carcans-Maubuisson on 6 and 7 June.
