A club championship at Voile Libre de Montagny-lès-Beaune, a small sailing club on the Lac des Genièvres just outside Beaune in Burgundy. The championship runs through the 2026 season as a series of rounds rather than one event; the second round, logged with FFVoile as Championnat de Club VLM 2026 M2, was sailed on 20 June with Charles Letellier as race committee president. VLM is a proper little operation for its size. It holds the École Française de Voile label, runs a sports school from March to November and keeps a mixed fleet of Optimists, dinghies, catamarans, windsurf boards, wings and paddleboards on the water. The club championship is the competitive spine of that program, with regular short-course racing on a compact lake where shifts roll off the surrounding land constantly. Wine country is an unlikely setting for a sailing title, and that is part of the charm.
