Annapolis YC 3-2-1 Invitational

Date: 17 September 2026

Location: Annapolis Yacht Club, Annapolis, United States

Organizer: Annapolis Yacht Club

The Annapolis YC 3-2-1 Invitational is Annapolis Yacht Club's signature interclub event, and its format is unusual enough to explain the name: three racing disciplines across three days. Eight invited yacht club teams, each with six sailors, compete in 3v3 team racing in two-person boats without spinnakers, 2v2 team racing in three-person boats with spinnakers, and 1v1 match racing with the full squad aboard one boat. Every sailor races in all three disciplines, so a good bowman also needs to handle a team-race start, which is the real test the event is built around. The regatta launched in 2019 and has drawn clubs from across the United States and abroad; past winners include New York Yacht Club, San Francisco Yacht Club, Royal Thames Yacht Club, and the home team. Racing takes place on the Chesapeake off Annapolis each September, with the 2026 edition the latest in the series.
