Mersey Yacht Club Marina
Location: Rooke Street, East Devonport, Tasmania, Australia
The Mersey Yacht Club runs the only marina berths in Devonport, on the east bank of the Mersey River opposite the town centre and close to the Bass Strait ferry terminal. Founded in 1923, the club welcomes visitors with berths and moorings for vessels to around 15 metres at modest nightly rates, and larger boats can be accommodated by arrangement. Shore facilities include showers, fresh water, fuel and a friendly club bar, with a slipway rated to ten tonnes for haul-outs. The river carries constant commercial traffic, including the Spirit of Tasmania ferries, so arrivals should contact the club or port control before entry. For yachts crossing Bass Strait it is the natural landfall on Tasmania's north coast.
