The Louis Vuitton Cup decides who earns the right to challenge Emirates Team New Zealand for the 38th America's Cup, sailed in AC75 foiling monohulls on the Bay of Naples. The series opens on 22-23 May 2027 with the Group 1 races - a fleet-racing format for the challengers that is a first in Cup history - followed by the Group 2 races on 26 May. A second round robin runs 29-31 May and a third from 9-11 June, whittling the field down to the semi-finals on 16-20 June. The two surviving teams then meet in the Louis Vuitton Cup Final on 26-27 June, with the winner going on to face the Defender in the America's Cup Match from 10-19 July. The challenger line-up features Athena Racing as Challenger of Record, led by Ben Ainslie, Luna Rossa racing on home water, Alinghi, and teams from France, the United States and Australia. Five weeks of match racing off the Naples waterfront, with Vesuvius on the horizon and a home crowd willing Luna Rossa toward the Match.
