ILCA 7 Men's World Championship 2026

Date: 23 August 2026 – 30 August 2026

Location: National Yacht Club and Royal St. George Yacht Club, Dun Laoghaire, Ireland

Organizer: ILCA, National Yacht Club, Royal St. George Yacht Club

The 2026 ILCA 7 Men's World Championship takes place in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, from 23 to 30 August, hosted jointly by the National Yacht Club and the Royal St George Yacht Club. Racing is on Dublin Bay, directly off the harbour. Entry is capped at 160 sailors and allocated by country, and this is an all-charter event: 160 new ILCA dinghies are being shipped from Thailand so every competitor races a boat of identical age. Carlisle Pier has been set aside for five weeks as the boat park and shore base. The stakes are obvious. The ILCA 7 is the men's singlehanded Olympic class, and with Los Angeles 2028 selection cycles underway, most national squads will treat this week as a key marker. Official training runs from 18 August. Dun Laoghaire's granite harbour handles big championships well, and the town is a short train ride from central Dublin.
