2026 ILCA 6 Women's World Championships

The 2026 ILCA 6 Women's World Championship takes place in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, jointly hosted by the Royal St George Yacht Club and the National Yacht Club, with racing from 5 to 12 September and official training from 31 August. The ILCA 6 is the women's Olympic single-handed dinghy, and this is a restricted-entry championship limited to 120 sailors, effectively the strongest fleet in the class with most competitors campaigning toward Los Angeles 2028. It runs alongside the ILCA 7 Men's Worlds as an all-charter event: 160 new boats shipped from Thailand, allocated on site, which levels the equipment playing field completely. Carlisle Pier has been set aside as the boat park and shore base for five weeks. There is a home story too, with Olympic medallist Annalise Murphy returning to race a world championship on her own waters. Dublin Bay in September should supply proper sea breeze and Irish Sea chop.
