Queensland's classic Easter ocean race starts off Shorncliffe at 10am on Good Friday, 26 March 2027. First sailed in 1949, the Gladstone Ports Corporation Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race sends the fleet 308 nautical miles north across Moreton Bay and along the open Queensland coast to Gladstone Harbour, where the town turns the finish into a harbour festival. The race is organised by the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club and regularly attracts a mix of grand prix maxis chasing race records and family-crewed cruisers, with multihull and IRC, ORC and PHS divisions. Line honours contenders can complete the course in under a day in fresh south-easterlies.
