Bol d'Heure

Date: 1 September 2026 – 30 September 2026

Location: Lac de la Plate Taille, Froidchapelle, Belgium

Organizer: SNEH

The Bol d'Heure is not a single regatta but a standing invitation. Almost every Sunday at 11:00, SNEH runs a friendly race on the Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure, the chain of reservoir lakes south of Charleroi that forms Belgium's largest artificial lake complex. Any type of sailboat can join, there is no advance registration, and the stated spirit is camaraderie, fair play and simplicity. SNEH, formed in 1982 from the merger of two older clubs on the Plate Taille lake, is the largest sailing club in Wallonia, with more than 300 member families sailing everything from dinghies to keelboats, plus an active Handivoile section. That mix shows up on the start line, which is part of the charm. If you are near Froidchapelle or Cerfontaine on a Sunday morning with a boat, you can simply turn up and race. Few events are this uncomplicated.
