Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron
Location: 750 Victoria Road, Outer Harbor, SA, Australia
The Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron was founded as the South Australian Yacht Club on 5 November 1869 and sailed its first race on New Year's Day 1870 with four yachts. Queen Victoria granted the Royal title in 1890, and in 1926 the Squadron moved from Birkenhead to a fully sheltered basin just inside the mouth of the Port River at Outer Harbor. Racing runs year round, with midweek twilight races in summer, weekend series, a women's series, one design classes, a junior programme and offshore events. The marina holds over 200 berths from 10 to 30 metres, plus 130 hard stand berths, a fuel berth, mast crane and a staffed slipway.
