Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron

Location: 578 Royal Esplanade, Manly, QLD, Australia

Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron traces its history to 1885, received a royal charter in 1902 and has carried the Royal prefix since 1961. Its base on Royal Esplanade at Manly, about 16 kilometres east of Brisbane's centre, opens straight onto the broad waters of Moreton Bay. Squadron members have competed at the Olympic Games since 1956, and the club has hosted Australian and world championships, among them the Etchells Worlds, the Laser Radial Worlds and the 2024 OK Dinghy World Championship. Sailors range from beginners in club programmes to elite Olympic campaigners, and a large marina operates at the site with berths for sale and lease.
