Royal Perth Yacht Club

Location: Australia II Drive, Crawley, WA, Australia

Royal Perth Yacht Club was founded in 1865 and is based at the Crawley marina on Pelican Point on Perth's Swan River, with a second location in Fremantle. The club holds a singular place in the sport's history. Its challenger Australia II, built by Steve Ward, won the America's Cup in 1983, and Royal Perth was the defending club and organiser of the defence series for the 1987 America's Cup, which was sailed off Fremantle. A replica of the Cup is displayed at the club as part of its history collection. The clubhouse sits on Australia II Drive, named for the famous winged-keel yacht.
