Royal Geelong Yacht Club, founded in 1859, sails from 25 Eastern Beach Road on Corio Bay and is best known as home of the Festival of Sails, promoted as Australia's largest regatta. The club also stages the Victorian Wooden Boat Festival and will host the Australian Youth Match Racing Championship in October 2026. Named Australian Sailing Club of the Year in 2020, it runs keelboat and off the beach racing alongside a Sailing Academy that offers Tackers courses for children aged seven to twelve, adult dinghy and keelboat tuition and a Women on Water programme. Members enjoy a marina with bookable berths, the new Victorian Sailing Centre and the Yot Cafe.
