Mackay Yacht Club
Location: Mulherin Drive, Mackay Harbour, QLD, Australia
Mackay Yacht Club sits at Mackay Harbour on the central Queensland coast, on Breakwater Access Road beside the Southern Breakwater and close to the 400-berth Mackay Marina Village. The harbour is a southern gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef, so cruising yachts on passage along the coast regularly call in. Mackay is also the finish port for the annual Gold Coast to Mackay yacht race, which brings an offshore fleet into the harbour. The club keeps an active Facebook page for members and visitors. Dinghy racing in the district is run separately by Mackay Sailing Club, whose dinghy division sails at Kinchant Dam inland of the city.
