Koombana Bay Sailing Club
Location: Koombana Drive, Bunbury, WA, Australia
Koombana Bay Sailing Club has raced on the sheltered waters of Koombana Bay at Bunbury since 1954, when it was founded as the Bunbury Sailing Club and renamed within months of its first race. Saturday racing runs across three yacht divisions plus jib-and-main, catamaran and junior dinghy fleets, and Wednesday twilight races from 5pm offer lighter competition for casual crews. The club trains novices, both junior and adult, to the point where they can fill a crew position or campaign their own boat. Ashore there is ample boat storage, grassed rigging lawns, a licensed bar, a catered kitchen and an alfresco clubroom that overlooks the bay and doubles as a beachside function venue.
