Kingston Beach Sailing Club

Location: Beach Road, Kingston, TAS, Australia

Kingston Beach Sailing Club occupies the southern end of Kingston Beach at the mouth of the Derwent, a short drive south of Hobart. Founded in 1954 by a small group of sailing families, the volunteer-run club remains an off-the-beach operation and an Australian Sailing accredited Discover Sailing Club. Membership has climbed from around 93 to 165, with roughly half of those juniors and a third female. The club regularly hosts Mirror state championships and statewide Sabot events, and its Adventure Sails see senior sailors and rescue boats chaperone juniors on long-distance sails to neighbouring beaches. The recently refurbished clubhouse includes a hall for hire and a storage shed used by local sea kayakers.
