Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Sailing Club
Location: Brooklyn Road, Brooklyn, NSW, Australia
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Sailing Club has taught children to sail since 1968 and operates as an activity of the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai PCYC. The club occupies Dead Horse Bay, also known as Lookout Bay, near Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River north of Sydney. There is no road access; sailors reach the clubhouse by water or by a ten-minute bush walk from the Parsley Bay ramp and car park. Parent and carer volunteers run the club most Saturdays from September to Easter, with theory sessions on Thursday evenings backed up by sailing at the weekend. Racing classes include the Manly Junior, Flying 11, 125, 13ft Skiff, VS and 16ft Skiff, and membership is open from age eight. Facilities cover boat storage, a canteen and change rooms.
