Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club

Location: Barrage Road, Goolwa, SA, Australia

Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club traces its origins to the Goolwa Regatta Club, formed before August 1854, and claims to be Australia's oldest yacht club; it took its present name in 1969. The club sails near the Murray Mouth in the historic river port of Goolwa, with Friday night racing through summer and monthly twilight races in winter. January's Regatta Week is built around the Milang Goolwa Freshwater Classic, South Australia's premier freshwater race, first sailed in 1966 to settle a wager between two local owners and run by the club since 1974 with fleets of 200 plus boats. Facilities include a 106-berth marina, a two-lane ramp and a licensed clubhouse, plus SheSails, Sailability and schools teams racing programmes.
