Glenelg Yacht Club
Location: Adelphi Terrace, Glenelg North, SA, Australia
Glenelg Yacht Club is based at the Patawalonga Boat Haven, now Holdfast Quays Marina, in Glenelg North on Adelaide's metropolitan coast. It caters for both power and sail boat owners and describes itself as run by boaties for boaties, with deliberately low membership fees and a calendar built around social outings on land and water. Boats reach Gulf St Vincent through a lock that can handle vessels up to 24 metres long and 5.5 metres in beam. The club name has deep roots in the area: a Glenelg Yacht Club was first established in August 1874, though today's club is a more recent operation at the marina.
