Drummoyne Sailing Club
Location: 1b Bowman Street, Drummoyne, NSW, Australia
Drummoyne Sailing Club was formed in 1913 as the Drummoyne Park Sailing Club to race the 16 foot skiffs that were hugely popular in early twentieth century Sydney. The club still races 16 footers on the Parramatta River alongside Hartley TS16s, yachts, OK dinghies, historical 10 foot skiffs and radio-controlled yachts, with racing for seniors and juniors alike. Its sailors have won honours at state, national and Olympic level; former club junior Olivia Price took silver in women's match racing at the London 2012 Games. A modern clubhouse at 2 St Georges Crescent replaced the run-down original premises in 2001 and overlooks the river, with a bar and function facilities.
