Darwin Sailing Club
Location: Atkins Drive, Fannie Bay, NT, Australia
Darwin Sailing Club was formed in 1963 by a group of volunteer sailors and has grown into one of the Northern Territory's busiest community sporting venues, with more than 1,000 members and around 50,000 visitors a year. From its Fannie Bay clubhouse the club runs twilight racing, match racing and the NT Women's Regatta, and its Darwin 2 Saumlaki event takes cruising yachts across to Indonesia. The training academy offers Tackers courses for children aged seven to eleven, adult learn to sail classes, school holiday programmes and powerboat courses. Ashore there is a boat park for storage and a waterfront bistro with celebrated sunset views.
