Balmain Sailing Club

Balmain Sailing Club describes itself as the birthplace of sailing for fun in Australia. Its clubhouse sits at the foot of Water Street on the Balmain peninsula, on the Parramatta River west of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Twilight races fill Friday evenings through spring and summer, Sunday racing runs every second weekend all year round, and a winter series keeps crews on the water in the colder months. The club hosts the annual Balmain Regatta and operates a popular sailing school for newcomers. Ashore there is a bar, a function space and a waterfront dining area with sunset views, and the venue is hired out for weddings and private events.
