Yachtmaster Sailing School

Yachtmaster Sailing School is an RYA recognised training centre in Melbourne, founded in 1988. It is run by Gordon Syme, an RYA Yachtmaster instructor and examiner, one of a small number of Yachtmaster examiners based in Australia. The school teaches the RYA syllabus from introductory and Competent Crew courses through Day Skipper to Yachtmaster, with both practical training and classroom theory. Shorebased courses include coastal navigation, Yachtmaster theory, diesel engine maintenance, safety and sea survival, and the marine radio operators licence. It also prepares students for the International Certificate of Competence used for charter holidays overseas, and offers private tuition and corporate team building days.
